Air Fryer Kale Chips are a delicious low calorie, low carb snack! They are easy to make and ready in just 10 minutes!
Did you know? Kale Chips are SO HEALTHY and a great way to increase your vegetable consumption! Just one serving contains over 100% of your daily needs for vitamin A, C, and K! They are also a good source of potassium, calcium, and fiber.
Many people avoid kale because it is too fibrous, myself included! I always had a difficult time digesting kale until I started massaging it, as I do with my Superfood Salad with Kale & Blueberries, or simply cooking it as I do with these Air Fryer Kale Chips!
How to Make Them
The process is simple! Set your air fryer to cook at 375 degrees for 6 minutes. While the the air fryer is preheating you will prepare your kale chips.
First, cut off any large stems and then tear the kale leaves into 2-3 inch pieces. (They will shrink when cooked.)
Next, wash the kale leaves, and dry them thoroughly with a paper towel or clean cloth. (Wet leaves = soggy chips.)
Add the kale, olive oil, and salt to a large mixing bowl and gently massage with your hands to evenly coat all of the leaves.
Once the air fryer is ready, place your chips in the basket and insert into the fryer. (Be sure not to fill above the fill line.) Toss them halfway through.
The chips will take 4-6 minutes to cook and are done when crispy. Remove the basket from the air fryer and carefully remove the chips.
Other Seasonings
Salt can easily be replaced with some of your own favorite seasonings! I also like to use onion powder, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, and sometimes a pinch of cayenne pepper.
How to store kale chips
I've honestly never had any leftovers! The chips do shrink down quite a bit and are easy to consume in one sitting. I would suggest placing them in a paper bag and storing at room temperature.
