This Air Fryer Asparagus is made with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. Perfectly tender and crisp, this easy side dish is ready in just 10 minutes!
I am loving my air fryer these days! Air fried vegetables have all that delicious roasted flavor, however are ready in just a fraction of the time. So perfect when preparing busy week night dinners!
How to air fry asparagus
Air frying asparagus is very simple! First, preheat the air fryer to cook for 6 minutes at 375 degrees. Please note, it could take up to 10 minutes to cook depending on the size of the spears and your desired tenderness.
While the air fryer is preheating, prepare the asparagus by snapping or cutting off the woody stems. Rinse with water, and then pat dry. Juice the lemon, and grate the parmesan cheese.
Once the air fryer prompts you to add food, place the spears in the basket. Brush on the olive oil and lemon juice, give them a quick toss, and then insert back into the air fryer to cook. Toss halfway through.
Once finished, check the spears for doneness and then carefully remove from the basket. I like to garnish my air fryer asparagus with some finely grated parmesan cheese. You could also add the parmesan cheese to the asparagus prior to the cooking process. Your choice!
Asparagus Toppings
Aside from olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and parmesan cheese, these other toppings would be great too!
- Dash of salt & pepper
- Onion and/or garlic powder
- Italian seasoning or dill
- Cayenne or crushed red pepper
- Toasted pine nuts
