What Makes this Pizza Healthy you ask?
White Whole Wheat Flour - I prefer to use a blend of white whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour, but you could use either.
Greek Yogurt - Yes! There is yogurt in the crust, which provides some extra protein and calcium.
Olive Oil is heart healthy and helps smooth out the pizza dough.
Flaxseed is a good source of protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids. You can use whole flaxseeds or ground flaxseed - your choice!
Hemp Hearts are the soft, inner part of hemp seeds. They are also a good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.
Tomato Sauce is packed full of lycopene, an antioxidant that promotes heart health and can lower the risk of certain types of cancer.
Cheese is a great source of protein and calcium. Choose part-skim mozzarella to help keep the fat content down.
Vegetables are packed full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Use whichever ones you have on hand!

How to make a Homemade Healthy Pizza Crust
Sometimes I am in a hurry and will use a flatbread, like I did for my Easy Caprese Flatbread Pizza. But let me tell you, there is nothing like a fresh homemade pizza crust! And it only takes 30 minutes to make from start to finish.
First, preheat oven to 400 degrees, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Next, mix together the flour, yogurt, olive oil, flaxseed, hemp hearts, and baking powder until it forms a dough. Dust the dough with just a little flour, so it is not sticky.
On a lightly floured surface, roll and shape the dough into desired shape(s). I made 2 hearts, but you could make 3-4 small or one large pizza. It's entirely up to you.
For the pizza sauce, simply mix together your tomato sauce and Italian seasoning.
Spread the sauce onto the dough, sprinkle with cheese, and add the vegetables.
Cook for 20 minutes or until browned. It's that easy!
Notes:
Flaxseed and hemp hearts are optional, but will give the pizza a nutritional boost. You can purchase a flax-hemp mix and avoid having to buy them separately.
If you're feeding a larger family, just hit 2x or 3x on the recipe card!
